there are now no fewer than eight different models of the Tiger 1200. The XR, XRx, Alpine edition, XRt, XRx low, the Desert edition and XCa. All of them are lighter than previous model and as a result are a whole lot more enjoyable to ride. They are all powered by the latest 1215cc motor from the English company and all have the same chassis which has been built and designed for real world use and would inspire an epic global adventure with something as simple as a test ride!

The spec lists are also impressive. Depending on which model you choose, there are features such as ‘Off Road Pro’ riding mode, all-black spoked wheels, a full colour 5” TFT screen. All of them come with LED lighting. The switchgear is backlit, which is more than helpful at night!  Other optional features include cruise control, semi-active suspension, Brembo monobloc front brake callipers. There is also cornering ABS as well as traction control. The desert edition is the one that we like. It stands out from the rest thanks to having a titanium and carbon fibre wrapped Arrow silencer and its one-off premium special edition ‘Sandstorm’ paint scheme with dedicated ‘Desert Edition’ graphics.
