The new Honda Africa Twin is both compact and aggressive. This enables it to work better off-road. The bikes fixed screen is short, with a seat height of 850-870mm and handlebars mounted 22.5mm higher than the previous 1000cc model, giving it a more upright riding position. It doesn’t matter whether the rider is standing or seated. On the new 1,100cc version the tail section is slimmer and the seat itself is 40mm narrower. This makes it easier to reach the ground reach. Lower and higher seat options are also available as accessories. Rather cleverly the dual LED headlights automatically adjust to ambient light intensity. This improves safety. Knuckle guards are now included as standard.

The full colour TFT touch screen keeps the rider in control of all of the bikes systems, the riding modes­ are selectable through the screen. This is easy to use, even when wearing gloves. Now the bike also incorporates Apple CarPlay. This allows the use of a smartphone through the touchscreen. Navigation apps can also be accessed and displayed and via a Bluetooth headset calls can be made or received. The smartphone itself can be plugged into a charging port beside the ‘clocks’.
