BMW Motorrad has made both the G 310 R as well as the G 310 GS fit for the future and afforded a range of enhancements to both machines. The single-cylinder engine has been updated to meet to EU-5 homologation rules and now comes with automatic idle boost, electromotive throttle controller and a self-boosting anti-hopping clutch. As the “40 Years GS” edition, the G 310 GS is based on that famous historical model, the R 100 GS. Accordingly, it is in black and yellow – with the basic colour cosmic black and yellow graphics on the tank side panels. 

The heart of both new bikes is the 313cc liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine with four valves, two overhead camshafts and electronic fuel injection. With a healthy output of 34HP at and a torque figure of 28Nm, the single-cylinder engine of the new BMW G 310 R is the ideal partner for dynamic roadster pleasure, and a fantastic introduction to life on two wheels with one of the world’s premier motorcycle brands. Both new bikes now have a full-LED headlight and indicators for increased visibility in traffic. Additionally, both the clutch lever and the handbrake lever are now adjustable in four stages.
