Powered by a 660cc engine, the latest Trident has everything the rider needs from running a city commute, to carving up a track day, to getting to the café first on a breakfast run. The spec on this middleweight naked roadster is quite high. The ride by wire throttle is precise and predictable. Speaking of predictability, the bike comes with traction control that’s switchable and there are two riding modes to choose from; road or rain. The ‘clocks’ are replaced with a TFT display and all the lights are light weight LED units. The indicators even self-cancel.

While the bike is a full power affair it can be converted using a Triumph factory kit to bring it back to an A2 compliant output. This means that it’ll work just as well for a novice rider as it will for the more experienced. The forks are by Showa and both they and the rear are adjustable. The brakes are by Nissin and ABS is standard. A shift assist system is available, once again, as an aftermarket accessory from the factory, as is a connectivity kit for your smartphone. Best of all service intervals have been pushed out to 16,000 kilometres.
